The Joint Research Center for Robotics Research is a collaborative arrangement between the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) and Zhejiang University (ZJU), one of the top four universities in China. This partnership is focused on the development of new knowledge and applications in robotics. It seeks to deliver both economic and community benefit, as well extensive benefits for academics and research students from both institutions.
The center aims to:
· develop and implement a strategic research agenda in robotics
· stimulate and facilitate research collaborations and staff exchange between UTS and ZJU in the research area to strengthen collaboration
· deliver joint research training through co-supervision of PhD students
· facilitate the joint submission of research grant proposals
· provide a forum to engage with other internationally recognised researchers in robotics
Fields of research
The joint research center will undertake research in the following specific fields of robotics:
· Robot localisation and unknown environment mapping
· Autonomous flying robots
· Human-robot interaction and collaboration
· Multi-robot collaboration
· Condition assessment of pipelines
· Humanoid robots
