The IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference (GLOBECOM 2018) hosted by the IEEE Communications Society was held in Abu Dhabi from December 9 to 13, 2018. At the conference, four scholars from the College of Control Science and Engineering, Zhejiang University were presented with 2 awards respectively .
Professor CHENG Peng was awarded as “2018 IEEE ComSoc Asia-Pacific Outstanding Young Researcher”; and Dr. ZHANG Yongmin, Professor HE Shibo and Professor CHEN Jiming won “2018 IEEE ComSoc Asia-Pacific Outstanding Paper Award” for their article “Gathering Optimization by Dynamic Sensing and Routing in Rechargeable Sensor Networks” jointly published in IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking.
“IEEE ComSoc Asia-Pacific Outstanding Young Researcher Award” founded by IEEE Communications Society is the highest honor in the Asia Pacific region for young researchers under the age of 35. The award is aimed at rewarding outstanding young researchers for their remarkable achievements in the field of communications over the past 3 years. The award ceremony has been held 13 times since 2001. Each time, 4-6 outstanding young scholars from universities in the Asia Pacific region are selected to win the prize. Professor CHENG Peng was awarded for his outstanding research work in the field of communication and control in large-scale network systems.
As for the “IEEE ComSoc Asia-Pacific Outstanding Paper Award” founded by IEEE Communications Society, it is aimed at rewarding outstanding original papers authored by members in the Asia Pacific region and published in all IEEE Communications Society journals and conferences over the past 3 years. The award ceremony has been held 7 times. Each time, 2-4 outstanding original papers are selected to win the prize.
