UIUC Prof. Naira Hovakimyan visited CSE

Invited by Dr. ZHANG Yu, Professor Naira Hovakimyan at the Department of Mechanical Science and Engineering, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) visited the College of Control Science & Engineering (CSE), Zhejiang University (ZJU) . During her visit on May 3rd and 4th, Hovakimyan gave two featured seminars respectively on Aerial Co-robots of the Future: How Far We Are and L1 Adaptive Control and Its Transition to Practice. Dr. REN Qinyuan, Prof. CHEN Jian as well as dozens of CSE graduate students attended and had fruitful discussions with Hovakimyan on the history and control techniques of autopilot systems.

After the seminars, Zhang's and Hovakimyan's teams had a meeting on the collaboration of ZJU-UIUC Institute research program. Zhang introduced CSE and ZJU and then presented the latest research work of his team. The team of Hovakimyan introduced their most recent work on the joint research program and their experimental platforms at UIUC. Both sides made plans on the joint program and desired to expand future cooperation.
