Erik Johannesson
Ph.D. Student at the Department of Automatic Control at Lund University
TITLE："Encoder and Decoder Design for Signal Estimation"
Abstract:
This talk covers the joint design of optimal linear MIMO encoders and decoders for filtering and transmission of a vector-valued signal over parallel SNR-constrained channels subject to a realtime constraint. The objective is to minimize the sum of the estimation error variances at the receiving end.
The design problem is nonconvex, but it is shown that a global optimum can be found by solving a related problem involving a mixed norm minimization.
Bio:
Erik Johannesson is a Ph.D. Student at the Department of Automatic Control at Lund University, Sweden, since 2006.
He received the M.Sc. degree in Engineering Mathematics from Lund University in 2006. His research interests are in networked control systems.
He is currently visiting Zhejiang University to teach the basic control course to a mixed class of Swedish and Chinese students, as part of a collaboration between Lund and Zhejiang Universities.
